This programme is designed to make students more employable, not provide detailed information about entry into a specific career or job role. It is for ethnic minority students in their final year and will last for 6 months.
We understand final year of university can be super stressful with dissertations to complete, however we recognise the importance of effectively managing efforts to ensure you are prepared after graduation.
"6 months after university, 1 in 10 graduates are unemployed" - Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA)
We know that talent is equally distributed but selectively developed and we want to change that narrative. We pair you up with a professional buddy to help you make the transition into the world of work. They will discuss with you practical skills that will help you navigate through the world of work. Think of it as a friend, an on-boarding buddy to talk through your concerns (or anything!) as you prepare to start your career.
Our buddies will help you:
-
Develop a strategy to get into employment
-
Gain practical advice, encouragement and support
-
Start building your professional network
-
Learn from experiences of others
-
Identify goals and establish a sense of direction
